    Changes since v1.1.20.

    Added

    • Jira issues — Connect a Jira Cloud site in Settings → Integrations to see the issues assigned to you in the sidebar's Workspace section, filter them by sprint, status, project, and type, and start a branch or Git Flow topic from an issue. Requires Pro.
    • ChatGPT provider — Sign in with a ChatGPT Plus or Pro plan instead of an API key.
    • ChatGPT (Codex) provider — An unofficial connection that signs in with any ChatGPT account, including Free, to use its Codex usage.
    • GitHub Copilot provider — Sign in with GitHub to use your Copilot plan, including Copilot Free, and choose from the models it includes.
    • Azure Repos — Connect Azure DevOps organizations with a personal access token over HTTPS or SSH, discover their repositories, and list, review, and merge pull requests.
    • Browser sign-in for GitHub and GitLab — Connect GitHub.com and GitLab.com accounts through OAuth in the browser, or with a personal access token.
    • Branch cleanup banner — A repository banner offers to delete branches that are fully merged.
    • Creating a branch can commit all changes right away.
    • Push and Fetch toolbar buttons show a badge while those operations run in the background.

    Improved

    • Merges prefill the commit subject and description from Git's merge message, without comment lines such as the conflicts list.
    • File lists show file-type icons with status badges, and row heights scale with text size.
    • The in-progress merge, rebase, and similar operation banner appears in the main window.
    • Git provider accounts moved to Settings → Git.
    • Update prompts include the release notes.
    • Identical pending push and fetch requests are no longer queued twice.

    Fixed

    • Reconnecting a Git provider account no longer creates a duplicate, and adding an account that is already connected is rejected.
    • Testing an SSH key on an HTTPS account keeps that account's saved token and identity.
    • The File Status list stays at the top when new rows are inserted above.
    • Git Flow start errors appear in the start sheet.
    • Running an older build no longer makes release notes appear again.
  2. 1.1.20

    Changes since v1.1.19.

    Added

    • Groq provider — Use Llama and GPT-OSS models hosted on Groq with your own API key.
    • Thinking setting — One toggle in Settings → AI Providers controls model reasoning for every configured cloud provider.
    • Branch pull requests — Right-click a branch to view its pull request in a dedicated window, or create one when none is open. Works with GitHub and GitLab.
    • Repository action audit — Review the Git commands that changed a repository during the session, with origin, status, and redacted output, in the Audit tab of the activity popover.
    • Repository Summary — Repository details add a Summary tab with recent branches, tags, and commits alongside README and Statistics.
    • About Commit+ — A new About window, plus Help menu links to social updates, the issue tracker, and the website.
    • A welcome sheet appears after signing in to a new account.
    • Delete all app notifications at once.

    Improved

    • Commit and pull request editors use separate title and description fields, and AI generates pull request titles and descriptions together.
    • Settings use a toolbar layout, with list-detail Git provider accounts, a dedicated AI provider configuration sheet, and a custom action detail editor.
    • Open in Editor opens files at the first changed line when the editor supports it.
    • Branch rows show a worktree indicator, and selecting a worktree reveals its history.
    • Undo, Open in, Settings, and AI actions share a single toolbar group.
    • File Status reuses diffs of unchanged files and asks for confirmation before discarding changes.
    • Interactive rebase shows inline progress and blocks other repository actions while it runs.
    • Repositories default to the origin remote, and linked worktrees inherit the main worktree's default remote.
    • The appearance setting now applies to pull request, comparison, and other AppKit windows.
    • Automatic fetch runs every 30 seconds and recovers cleanly from cancellation.

    Fixed

    • Commit+ Cloud sync of settings, bookmarks, custom actions, Git Flow configuration, commit rules, and provider accounts requires Pro and respects the settings-sync toggle.
    • Staging a renamed file keeps the staged rename.
    • Unstaged moves appear as a deletion and a new file, matching git status.
    • Interactive rebase actions are available for commits brought in by merges.
    • Claude repository-agent turns keep tools and thinking consistent across tool use.
  3. 1.1.19

    Changes since v1.1.18.

    • History caches commit details and file diffs for faster repeat navigation.
    • Pull request descriptions and comments support richer Markdown and GitHub review diff context, with branch-name and link copy controls and a more adaptable header.

    Fixed

    • Batch branch deletion continues after individual failures and reports the affected branches.
    • Pull request notification clicks reuse an existing repository window when available.
  4. 1.1.18

    Changes since v1.1.17.

    Added

    • Merged branch detection — Commit+ Pro can mark local branches whose current tip was included in a merged GitHub pull request or GitLab merge request, show the provider evidence, and safely clean up confirmed branches after revalidation.

    Improved

    • Selecting a branch while viewing all History now loads older pages until its tip is found instead of switching to a branch-only filter.
    • Repository rows respond reliably to a single click for details and a double-click to open the repository.

    Fixed

    • Opening a repository with uncommitted changes from Welcome now goes directly to File Status.
  5. 1.1.17

    Changes since v1.1.16.

    Added

    • Interactive rebase — Right-click a History commit to reorder commits, reword messages, edit, squash, fixup, or drop eligible commits. Review commit details and changes before rebasing, and continue, skip, or abort paused rebases from File Status.
    • Repository catalog and details — Discover local repositories from selected folders in Your Repos, browse plain or folder-tree lists, and use View to inspect repository information, remotes, and the working-tree README without opening a workspace.
    • Repository statistics — Explore commit activity by month, contributor, weekday, and hour with date-range controls and locally cached results.
    • Pull request notifications — Receive macOS notifications when pull request creation succeeds or fails; click a notification to open the repository’s Pull Requests view.

    Improved

    • The Push dialog offers a Force Push option for one selected branch, with a separate review flow and tags excluded.
    • Repository pickers and the Welcome dashboard avoid redundant background updates, with clearer loading and Push dialog layouts.
    • Conflict resolution uses native code panes with synchronized scrolling.

    Fixed

    • Canceling or closing the commit editor cancels pending AI commit-message generation and prevents late results from replacing the message.
    • GitHub notifications marked Done stay completed across refreshes until new activity arrives.
  6. 1.1.16

    Changes since v1.1.15.

    Added

    • Tree file lists — Switch between plain lists and folder trees in Staged, Changed, History, and pull request file lists. Select or stage and unstage whole folders in File Status.

    • Background refresh avoids redundant History reloads and file line-count loading, keeping repository views more responsive.
    • Pull request lists and details display cached content while refreshing expired data.
    • Refreshed the app icon and Git Flow branch badges.

    Fixed

    • Stale pull request list caches no longer skip refreshes.
    • Branch-name sanitization handles invalid Git ref characters and reserved names.
    • Branch selection and History filtering follow the checked-out branch after checkout.
  7. 1.1.15

    Changes since v1.1.14.

    Added

    • Diff settings — Customize the fixed-width font, text size, added and removed line colors, background opacity, and syntax highlighting, with Light and Dark previews and account settings sync.
    • Remote branch cleanup — Optionally delete the tracked or matching remote branch when deleting local branches, from the sidebar or branch manager.

    Improved

    • Pull request creation — Create pull requests in a dedicated resizable window without first loading the pull request list.
    • Stash details — Show the stash description, branch, and creation time, keep a file selected, and display progress while its diff loads.
    • Branch navigation — Highlight folders containing the current branch and load branch-specific history when its tip is outside the loaded history page.

    Fixed

    • Diff panels now relayout when the window or split view is resized.
    • Sidebar branch lists refresh after undo and redo, and branch selection receives keyboard focus.
    • Stash diff loading ignores results for files that are no longer selected.
    • Default diff text colors adapt to Dark appearance.
  8. 1.1.14

    Changes since v1.1.13.

    Added

    • Tag toolbar button — Create tags from the repository toolbar, with visibility controls in Appearance settings and the View menu.
    • Git Flow cleanup options — Choose whether to delete the local branch and remove its local worktree after a successful Finish. Worktree cleanup checks that it is clean, unlocked, and unchanged before removal.

    Improved

    • Git LFS browsing — View a storage overview, file details, local content state, and recent author and commit metadata, with controls that adapt to the available width.
    • Git LFS tracking rules — Distinguish wildcard patterns from exact filenames and remove rules directly from the list.
    • Account sign-in — A refreshed login layout adapts to its content, and Forgot Password opens the password reset flow on the web.
    • Repository layout — Minimum window and sidebar widths account for the selected text size.

    Fixed

    • Removing an exact Git LFS tracking rule preserves other wildcard rules and unrelated attributes.
    • Git LFS downloads select the tracked remote when available, then fall back to origin or another available remote.
    • Sidebar badges reserve enough space to avoid clipping text edges.
  9. 1.1.13

    Changes since v1.1.12.

    Added

    • View release notes again — Open the changelog for your installed version from the GitHub notifications popover.

    Improved

    • Diff browsing — Canvas-backed rendering, cached text layout, and stable line identities reduce rendering work for large diffs and long lines.
    • Native sidebar and file lists — AppKit tables handle sidebar navigation, changed files, and commit files with reusable rows and native click and drag handling.
    • Repository screen switching — File Status, History, and Reflog retain their screen state when switching views and defer refresh work while inactive.
    • Branch names — Creating and renaming branches preserves capitalization and non-whitespace characters, while replacing whitespace with hyphens.

    Fixed

    • Fetch uses the current branch's tracked remote, falling back to origin or an available remote, without resolving credentials for unrelated remotes.
    • Fetching all remotes continues after an individual failure, retains successful updates, and reports failures by remote.
    • Release notes match the installed app version instead of loading the latest changelog from main.
  10. 1.1.12

    Changes since v1.1.11.

    Added

    • GitHub notifications — Check repository notifications from the toolbar, refresh them on demand, and open related GitHub activity from the new popover.
    • Command-line tool setup — Install the commit command from the app menu or Settings with clearer setup guidance.

    Improved

    • Faster History and diff browsing — New native table-backed views, incremental loading, cached graph geometry, and cancellable detail loading reduce unnecessary work while navigating large repositories.
    • Settings organization — App, repository, account, and connection settings are easier to navigate, with account and connection management consolidated in Settings.
    • Push workflow — The branch push sheet has a clearer, more compact layout.

    Fixed

    • Diff content in detail panels now scrolls reliably and no longer conflicts with split-view divider hit testing.
    • History detail loading resumes cleanly after interruption and avoids stale work when selection changes.
    • The GitHub notification account picker no longer truncates when the popover uses a fixed height.
    • Repository menu actions target the correct window more reliably.
  11. 1.1.11

    Changes since v1.1.10.

    • Custom Actions — Configure executables or scripts in Settings and run them for a repository, selected files, or selected commits. View command output and sync action definitions and embedded scripts through Commit+ Cloud, with execution trust managed separately on each Mac.
    • Line change counts — See added and removed line totals beside files in File Status, commit details, and comparisons, as well as in diff hunk headers.

    Improved

    • Branch comparison window — Compare branches in a separate resizable window with searchable branch selectors, a filterable folder tree, and side-by-side image previews.
    • Searchable revision selection — Find branches more easily across Git dialogs and History filters, and select or enter a commit, branch, tag, or revision expression when comparing a file or folder.
    • Smoother History browsing — Earlier preloading, retained loaded commits, and more efficient graph drawing improve scrolling through long histories.
    • Persistent AI usage display — Recent Commit+ AI allowance information is cached locally per account and restored between launches.

    Fixed

    • Sidebar rows no longer shift width when selection or refresh changes the scrollbar state.
    • Account connection, sign-in, and upgrade sheets now keep long content scrollable within bounded heights.
    • Branch comparisons automatically switch to comparing branch tips when the merge-base comparison has no changed files.
  12. 1.1.10

    Changes since v1.1.9.

    Added

    • Self-hosted Git providers — Pro users can connect GitHub Enterprise Server and GitLab Self-Managed accounts with personal access tokens, browse available repositories, and use their configured server for Git and pull request operations.

    • Branch-only History filtering — Show commits unique to the selected branch by choosing a comparison base, including local or remote branches.

    Improved

    • Clearer History graphs — Expanded graph colors and larger reference labels make busy branch histories easier to read.
    • More reliable History navigation — Selecting a branch now focuses its tip commit while preserving table focus, and column widths remain fixed when the window changes size.
    • Smoother branch drag and drop — Sidebar branch dragging no longer triggers selection or double-click actions while a drag is in progress.

    Fixed

    • History loads now discard stale results when branch filters or searches change quickly.
    • The final History column width is now captured reliably when resizing ends.
  13. 1.1.9

    Changes since v1.1.8.

    Added

    • Configurable credential helpers — Choose a fallback Git credential helper in Settings while Commit+ connected accounts remain the first choice, with safeguards for existing helper chains and insecure stores.
    • GitLab token recovery — GitLab accounts now refresh expiring OAuth tokens automatically and clearly prompt for reauthorization when required.
    • Account email visibility — View the signed-in account email from the toolbar menu and Manage Account sheet.

    Improved

    • Faster History browsing — Large histories load and scroll more efficiently with incremental commit graph generation and bounded page retention.
    • Faster repository status loading — The repository picker consolidates status checks, and the sidebar batches branch synchronization lookups.
    • More consistent repository windows — Opening a repository from the welcome window preserves its initial frame and presentation context.

    Fixed

    • Command-line setup now recognizes an existing Commit+ CLI symlink after the app moves or updates.
  14. 1.1.8

    Changes since v1.1.7.

    Added

    • Drag-and-drop staging — Stage or unstage one or multiple selected files by dragging them between File Status sections, with Shift and Command selection support.
    • Customizable repository sidebar — Choose whether Tags, Worktrees, Reflog, Pull Requests, Git LFS, and Git Flow appear in the sidebar. These preferences participate in settings sync.

    Improved

    • Dedicated Settings window — Settings now opens in its own resizable macOS window instead of a sheet attached to a repository window.
    • Faster repository and diff presentation — Repository details no longer wait for icon loading, while diffs display plain text sooner and cache deferred syntax highlighting.
    • Cleaner commit dragging — Dragging commits from History now shows one preview with the selected commit count.

    Fixed

    • Discard and undo snapshots now work correctly in linked Git worktrees.
    • The command-line setup tip waits until the terms have been accepted.
    • Repository toolbar button labels no longer clip on macOS 27.

  16. 1.1.6

    • Git LFS in Finder-launched sessions: Git hooks and filters can now find Git LFS installed in common package manager locations.
    • Pull targets the right branch: Pull defaults to the current branch's upstream remote and branch, with sync activity shown on the local branch being updated.
    • Clearer pull failures: Repository status refreshes after a failed pull so merge conflicts appear in File Status, and error messages include Git's detailed output.
    • Better merge recovery: File Status shows in-progress merges with Continue and Abort actions, even when no file changes remain. It also stays visible when opening a repository with an unfinished operation.
  17. 1.1.5

    Changes since v1.1.4.

    Added

    • Browse repository files and folders at a revision without checking it out, with changed-file indicators, code and image previews, and actions to copy paths, contents, and object IDs.
    • Compare a file or folder with a branch, tag, or commit in a separate window, including comparisons against staged changes or the working tree.
    • Repair repository bookmarks after a remote is renamed or moved, with remote selection and retry support for pending bookmark sync changes.

    Improved

    • Expanded syntax highlighting for source files, configuration formats, diffs, and Repository AI code blocks.

    • Refined sign-in and sign-up screens and pointer feedback on interactive controls.
    • Updated website and documentation links to commitplus.app and docs.commitplus.app.

    • Prevent competing sheets from opening over one another in the same window, and keep account dialogs attached to their originating window.
    • Match repository bookmarks against all remotes when linking a local folder.
  18. 1.1.4

    Changes since v1.1.3.

    Added

    • Visual branch comparison workflow: compare any two branches, tags, or commits with a dedicated comparison view showing commits, file changes, and diffs.
    • Protected branch commit warnings: when attempting to commit to a protected branch, a confirmation sheet explains the protection and offers to create a new branch instead.
    • SQLite-backed LocalDataStore with async operations: migrated repository bookmarks, provider accounts, commit rules, GitFlow configuration, and visibility cache to a local SQLite database for better performance and reliability.

    Improved

    • Conflict resolution UI: refined the merge tool layout, line highlights, and synchronized scrolling for a clearer side-by-side comparison.
    • Lazy loading for large files and batched diff rendering: improved responsiveness when viewing large files or many changes in History and File Status.
    • Sidebar scroll behavior: scroll indicators now appear only when needed, and keyboard-driven scrolling is smoother.
    • Welcome page activity cache: cache entries are now keyed by date for more accurate daily activity tracking.

Changes in the latest Commit+ release compared with the previous release.

    Improved

    • Moved the History branch graph into its own resizable column and kept dense graphs within that column.
    • Persisted History column widths so they scale with the window, retain their proportions when columns are hidden, and support horizontal scrolling when needed.
    • Improved the repository picker with hover highlights, pointing-hand cursors on interactive controls, and an adaptive layout for Open, Clone, and Create Repository actions.

    Fixed

    • Fixed History column resizing restoring stale widths during a drag or shrinking columns when the horizontal scrollbar appears.
    • Preserved selected commits when loading another page of History and prevented delayed selection restoration from applying to a different history view.
    • Fixed Push remote selection: prefer the current branch's upstream remote, then the repository's default remote; require an explicit choice when multiple remotes remain ambiguous.
    • Cancelled outdated remote-loading tasks when switching the Push remote and prevented submission when pushing is unavailable.
  20. 1.1.2

All notable changes to Commit+ are documented here.

    Changes since v1.1.1.

    Added

    • Welcome Dashboard — A new local-first dashboard summarizes recent repositories, commit activity over the last 30 days, active days, and repositories that need attention. It also provides quick access to repositories with uncommitted work, ahead/behind branches, missing folders, and recent activity without automatically fetching or uploading repository data.
    • Commit+ AI for Pro — Commit+ Pro users now receive 500 AI credits every month for managed AI features, including commit-message generation and Repository AI. No API key or model configuration is required. Settings show the available balance and next renewal date; unused credits expire at the end of each monthly period.

    • Expanded submodule management with nested folder presentation, folder expand/collapse controls, clearer names and paths, accessibility labels, a detail placeholder, and additional sidebar actions.
    • Added a force option when re-adding submodules and improved forced removal, with explicit safety checks for dirty worktrees, staged changes, nested paths, and stale .git/modules directories.
    • Added support for choosing and validating local Git repositories when adding subtrees, including local file transport handling and clearer validation for existing destination folders.
    • Refined the recent-repository list so branch, changed-file, ahead, and behind status load independently and appear sooner.
    • Added sidebar controls for showing or hiding submodules and subtrees.
    • Improved Settings presentation so it opens in the correct repository window.
    • Added automated macOS build and unit-test checks, with more deterministic offline test execution.

    Fixed

    • Fixed Push selecting the wrong remote in repositories with multiple remotes; it now prefers the current branch's upstream remote.
    • Fixed Commit+ AI backend configuration and reduced unnecessary allowance requests with a five-minute usage cache.
    • Fixed submodule removal when the submodule was newly added or had staged changes, while preserving explicit force confirmation for destructive cases.
    • Fixed submodule add failures caused by empty destination folders, nested submodule paths, or stale internal Git directories by validating them before running Git.
    • Fixed local subtree add and pull operations failing because Git's local file transport was not enabled.
