  1. 2.1.0Latest

The notch now has an orb on each side, bringing Keep Awake, Sound, System Monitor, Cleaning Mode, Presenter and Eye Break one click away. And you choose where every notch button lives.

    New

    • Tools in the orbs. The open notch now has an orb on each side; each tool opens its own face of the Tools page:
    • Keep Awake keeps your Mac (and the screen) awake for 15 minutes up to 8 hours, indefinitely, or until the end of your workday. It turns off when the battery runs low and carries on when OneNotch restarts or updates. A coffee cup on the closed notch, a dot on the menu bar icon and a short "still on" note when you come back remind you it's running. With Pro, keep your Mac awake until an app quits ("Keep awake until Xcode quits") and get a heads-up 2 minutes before a timed session ends.
    • Sound: pick the output device, set the system volume, mute every microphone at once, and set the volume of each app that is playing (asks for system audio permission the first time you adjust one). Two-finger swipes on the trackpad adjust the volume.
    • System Monitor: CPU, memory, battery and power, network, disk and thermal state. It only measures while the page is open.
    • Cleaning Mode locks the keyboard so you can wipe it. Press Esc five times or click Unlock to get out; it also unlocks by itself after 1–5 minutes.
    • Presenter:
    • Teleprompter scrolls your script right under the camera, in a 3, 4 or 5-line card, with a Notes-style editor that also opens .md files. Edit the script while it runs (✎ on the card) and the card keeps your place.
    • Draw on Screen, from the Presenter page or the Draw button on the teleprompter card.
    • Presenting keeps OneNotch quiet (no Copied toast, sounds or music/agent peeks), keeps your Mac awake, hides the notch from screen sharing, and a talk clock counts the time you've spoken.
    • Set keys for the teleprompter and drawing in Settings › Shortcuts (none are assigned by default).
    • With Pro: plan the talk's length (a countdown that turns amber 2 minutes before the end and red when you run over, plus your pace against the script) and split the script into sections with # headings, jumping between them from the bar beside the card or with ⌥⇧. / ⌥⇧,.
    • Notch layout. Settings › Interface › Notch layout lets you put any button (Calendar, Focus, AI usage, Translate, Settings, Battery, Eye Break and every tool) in the left orb, the right orb or the toolbar. Drag on the notch picture, or click an icon to edit. The buttons you use keep their place when you update.
    • Eye Break. After every 20 minutes of real screen time, a small card in the notch reminds you to look far away for 20 seconds, with a 1-minute heads-up you can push back or skip. It waits while you type, drag, take calls, watch videos or play games, and counts stepping away as a break. Pause it for an hour or until tomorrow, or start a break right away. With Pro, change the interval and break length, add long breaks, blink and posture nudges, and see your eye rest score with 7- and 30-day stats.
    • Name your clips. Right-click any clip › Rename… to give it a name. The name shows on the card and in the preview, search finds it, and the new "Named First" sort puts named clips on top. Free for everyone.
    • Find text in images (Pro). Images you copy are read on your Mac in the background, so typing a word that appears in a screenshot finds it. Settings › Clipboard › Content Recognition › Find Text in Images.
    • Touch ID for locked boards (Pro). Enter the passcode once after OneNotch starts, then open locked boards with Touch ID or your Apple Watch.
    • Resize and convert images. Right-click an image clip for Resize (half size, or 1920/1280/640 on the long side) and Convert to PNG, JPG, WebP or HEIC. The result is copied as a new file; the original clip stays.
    • Actions on the Copied toast. Hover the "Copied" toast under the notch to Pin, Open (links) or Translate (text), or Delete what you just copied. The menu bar icon flashes a ✓ each time you copy.
    • Translate back. Click the arrow between the two languages (on the notch, the translate page or the floating panel) to swap them and translate the result back. Click again to return to the original.
    • Delete captures after. Settings › Screenshot › History: 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year or Forever. Expired captures OneNotch saved go to the Trash (you can restore them). New installs default to 1 month; if you're updating, yours stays on Forever.
    • Glowing selection. Settings › Screenshot: keep the screen bright while selecting an area, with an outline coloured by capture type. On for new installs; turn it on yourself if you're updating.
    • Motion artwork on the lock screen. For Apple Music songs with animated artwork, click the artwork on the lock screen player to fill the screen with it; click again to go back. Settings › Live Activities.
    • Site icons for Chrome. Music and video playing in Chrome shows the icon of the site (YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, Netflix, Facebook) instead of the Chrome icon.
    • Check Permissions. Settings › Support has a Check Permissions button next to Reset Onboarding, to see and grant missing permissions without redoing onboarding.

    Improved

    • New app icon made for Liquid Glass. macOS now draws it for Light, Dark, Clear and Tinted.
    • Lock screen. The music card sits in the middle of the screen; turning on lyrics enlarges the artwork with lyrics beside it, with word-by-word karaoke and click-a-line to seek. The lock is now an Apple-shaped padlock whose shackle lifts and turns as you unlock, with a scanning ring when the password is accepted, and a coffee cup shows while Keep Awake is on. The card is more compact.
    • Screenshot shortcuts work right away. ⇧⌘2 (OCR), ⇧⌘6 (scrolling capture), ⇧⌘9 (window capture) and the others are now on by default, including for updates that never touched the switch. The switch is now "Replace macOS Screenshot Keys" and only decides whether OneNotch takes ⇧⌘3/⇧⌘4 from macOS. To give a key back to another app, clear it in Settings › Shortcuts.
    • Capture + Annotate in place: ⌘C copies what you see and closes. Undo/Redo stay on the toolbar; Rotate, Translate (now with a language picker) and Remove Background moved to the side bar. Auto-redact lets you pick which kinds of data to hide.
    • OCR result card has a Translate button. The separate "Link detected" popup is gone, since the card already has Open Link.
    • Translation: Automatic now falls back to Bing (and Youdao in Asia) when Google fails, and is listed at the top of the service menu. The floating translate panel is shorter and remembers whether it's pinned.
    • Edit window gains Sort Lines A→Z, Remove Duplicate Lines, Remove Markdown Symbols, Remove Tracking from Links and Remove Accents. Save moved to the toolbar.
    • Clipboard sorting: "Name (A–Z)" is now "Content (A–Z)", next to the new "Named First".
    • Erase & reset passcode counts down 5 seconds before deleting locked boards, so you can still cancel.
    • Menu bar: clipboard items are grouped in a Clipboard submenu, like Screenshot.
    • Calendar: the quick-pick buttons when adding a reminder add up (+1h three times = 3 hours) and keep the chosen day; events get day buttons (Today and the next 3 days, −/+ and a month picker). The month grid is taller and easier to read.
    • Pomodoro: a length for each mode, optional long breaks after a few tasks, auto-start, and a Skip break button during breaks. Eye Break moved out of the Focus page into its own button.
    • Settings › Utilities is now a list; each utility has its own page.
    • Clock app timers on the notch tick every second, and the timer icon fits the pill better.
    • Volume keys: on devices that can't change volume (HDMI/DisplayPort speakers, AirPods playing on another device), macOS shows its own HUD. ⌘ and ⌃ + volume keys are no longer captured.
    • Codex in the notch: shows its question when Codex.app asks you something, shows the actual command or file it's running, and shows the compacting animation while it compacts.
    • What's New gets a Dock icon so it can't get lost behind other apps; opening it from Settings closes Settings.
    • The permission helper on top of System Settings is now a simple OneNotch icon to drag into the list.
    • Switching to a board with many pinned files no longer stutters.
    • On macOS 26, OneNotch no longer starts an extra AutoFill process when you type in its text fields.
    • DualSense controllers use the system controller icon.

    Fixed

    • Fixed a crash on macOS 27 when using Auto Scroll in scrolling capture.
    • Fixed a crash ("more Update Constraints in Window passes") in Library and the notch.
    • OneNotch no longer stays at 40–50% CPU after the screen has been locked.
    • Closing Library now frees the memory used by images (up to ~330 MB).
    • OCR that hangs no longer blocks screenshots; it gives up after 20 seconds, can be cancelled with ✕, and the next OCR works again.
    • Claude Code and Codex setup is safer with your config files: symlinked dotfiles stay symlinks, your Claude statusLine is restored on Remove, unrelated files are left untouched, Codex config.toml files with CRLF line endings or comments are no longer broken, Codex hooks keep their trust and are not duplicated after moving to a new Mac, and Setup can no longer freeze OneNotch when codex doesn't respond.
    • AI hook event logs are now cleaned up after 7 days (they could grow to gigabytes).
    • Codex.app no longer shows "Running exec" or :::writing markup in the notch.
    • Turning off Clipboard › AI Agents now stops the onenotch-mcp processes, and agents reconnect by themselves when OneNotch reopens.
    • Next and previous now work for single YouTube videos in Chrome, and the artwork of another music app no longer flashes when skipping.
    • Clock app timers on the notch now stop when paused and are no longer 10 seconds short.
    • Bluetooth battery levels are correct for low batteries, and AirPods no longer show the case's battery.
    • With a UPS connected, the notch shows the MacBook's battery instead of the UPS.
    • The lyrics panel, the floating Translate panel, Library and the Clipboard Panel can no longer be dragged smaller than their minimum size.
    • On macOS 26, the Translate button beside selected text is round again, without a faint square around it.
    • Dragging inside AndroMeld (Android screen mirroring) no longer shows the Translate button.
    • The selection crosshair no longer disappears at the very top edge of the screen.
    • In Annotate, large images are no longer covered by the toolbar, and dragging a selection can start outside the image.
    • Opening a capture in Annotate and closing it without changes no longer adds a duplicate clip.
    • The form for adding a reminder or event is no longer cut off in pill mode.
    • The notch shrinks right away when leaving the calendar or an AI session, and switching between the event list and the day summary no longer makes it jump.
    • Translation error toasts under the notch show the full message.
    • The ⓘ details on the OneNotch Pro page, "By App" and the A–Z sort now appear in your language.
  2. 2.0.5

Import clipboard data from other apps, pick colors on screen and work with videos, links and codes in copied content.

    New

    • Import clipboard history and pinned items from Paste, PastePal, PasteNow, Maccy and CopyClip (Pro). Duplicate content is skipped, and pinned items go to the matching Board.
    • Videos copied from Finder have a preview and a VIDEO label in the notch, Clipboard Panel and Library. The thumbnail remains when the original file is moved or deleted.
    • Type @video to filter videos.
    • Links and OTP codes inside copied text can be accessed directly from the right-click menu.
    • Pick Color: press ⇧⌘1 to pick a color anywhere on screen. Tab switches HEX/RGB/HSL/HSB; ⌘-click to keep picking colors (Pro). Change the shortcut in Settings.
    • Apple Music: the notch shows the next track a few seconds before it changes, with the track name, artist and a countdown animation.
    • AI agents have new loading indicator styles.

    Improved

    • OCR responds faster on the first use.
    • The OCR result card below the notch is more compact, previews up to five lines and closes with Esc.
    • The Clipboard Panel offers “Copy and close” and “Paste and close” when clicking an item. A pinned panel stays open.
    • PNG, JPEG and GIF images keep their format in the clipboard, avoiding larger files or lost animation. Images copied from Finder show their file name and can be searched by name.
    • Delete clipboard history from the past 15 minutes, one hour, 24 hours or seven days instead of clearing everything. Items pinned to Boards are kept.
    • Smart Select has a new look and sits beside the end of the selected text in supported apps.
    • Calendar adjusts its height to the number of events. Click the event name in “Next up” to open its details.
    • Swiping between notch pages gives a light haptic tap when the gesture reaches the switching point.
    • Drag to add, reorder or remove controls directly on the player preview in Media Settings.
    • The live music waveform pauses while Low Power Mode is on to reduce load and save battery.
    • Pomodoro now offers more sounds.
    • Onboarding lets you enable Screenshot shortcuts, warns about macOS shortcut conflicts and prompts before you skip permissions.
    • Screenshot editing handles keep a consistent size at every zoom level, making them easier to use.
    • Changing the app language prompts you to restart immediately, in the language you selected.
    • Improved compatibility with Codex Auto Review.

    Fixed

    • Fixed Codex appearing done while it was still running or had unfinished subagents.
    • Approval requests no longer stay pending after being answered in the terminal; fixed Claude asking for input when it had already finished.
    • Enabling Translation can show the translate button beside selected text without also enabling Smart Select in Utilities.
    • Fixed a crash when turning Low Power Mode on or off.
    • Fixed dragging files to the notch accidentally opening Mission Control.
    • Reduced CPU usage when Settings is open but idle.
    • Fixed restarting the app sometimes opening two instances of OneNotch.
    • Fixed unnecessary rebuilding of the area capture overlay, making Screenshot, OCR and Pick Color more reliable.
  3. 2.0.4

Drag several clipboard items at once, switch notch pages with Tab, and enjoy improved stability.

    New

    • Drag several clipboard items at once from the notch and the Clipboard Panel. Select items with ⌘-click, or ⇧-click to select a range.
    • Drop several items on a Board to pin them all at once.
    • Press Tab or Shift-Tab to switch pages while the notch is open and the pointer is over it.
    • New "Edges open their own page" option in Interaction zones. When it is off, clicking or hovering anywhere on the notch opens the page set in "When the notch opens".
    • Two new clipboard sort options, "By App" and "Name (A–Z)", shared by the notch and the Clipboard Panel.
    • The Pin Board can now be renamed and given a new icon.
    • New "Floating Panel Preview" option in Settings › Clipboard › Appearance to turn the preview beside the Clipboard Panel on or off.

    Improved

    • Smart Select translates standalone date words such as "tomorrow" or "Friday" instead of suggesting a new event. Phrases with a time or an event name, such as "Friday 3pm" or "Team sync Friday", still show the calendar card.
    • Smart Select cards include a Translate button that switches to the translation right in the card.
    • Smaller Smart Select badge. The translation panel shows language codes so language names are no longer cut off.
    • The text preview beside the Clipboard Panel shows the full content and supports selecting, scrolling and copying. Moving the pointer toward the preview no longer switches the item being viewed.
    • Redesigned passcode and Board create/edit prompts: they now appear in the middle of the Clipboard Panel, with a Cancel button and clear actions.
    • Copy Stack: click the count on an item to remove it from the stack; press Esc to clear the search, then filters, then the stack. The stack clears after you drag it out, so the same items are not pasted twice.
    • Dragging a stack with both text and images into Notes or TextEdit keeps all of the content, in the order you selected it.
    • Images copied from Finder drag out as the original file, keeping their name and format.
    • Smoother area capture animation, with no stutter on the first capture.
    • The capture preview panel (Quick Access), when placed in a bottom corner, now sits above third-party docks and floating toolbars instead of being covered by them.
    • The Send Feedback form fills in the email you used before, with a quick clear button, so we can reply to you. Support contact is now consolidated into Send Feedback and Report a Bug.
    • "Enable gestures" is renamed "Swipe down to open". Swiping down to open the notch is available only when "Open notch on hover" is off, to avoid accidental opening while hovering.

    Fixed

    • Fixed the app freezing for a few seconds when copying or pasting with sound effects on, at launch, and when changing tracks.
    • Fixed the app appearing frozen after Check for Updates; the result now always appears in front.
    • Fixed the notch showing an old video after switching videos or tabs in Google Chrome.
    • Fixed seeking and playback controls for Google Chrome affecting another app, such as Spotify.
    • Fixed links in the Clipboard Panel losing their title and favicon after a while.
    • Fixed preview text appearing black and hard to read in a dark Clipboard Panel while macOS uses Light appearance.
    • Fixed the 100% label sitting off-center in the battery ring when connecting Bluetooth headphones.
    • Fixed the "Lock Board…" translation in 15 languages.
