Amphetamine
Keeps your Mac awake for as long as you tell it to.

About
Amphetamine stops the Mac from sleeping — for a set time, until a download finishes, while an app is running, or whenever the display is being used. Sessions can be triggered from the menu bar, a keyboard shortcut, or a rule such as "stay awake while this app is open". Free, and one of the first things most people install on a new Mac.
