Roadie
Keeps your Mac's mic and speakers on the devices you actually want

About
Roadie is a small macOS menu bar utility that fixes the wrong-microphone problem. You rank your microphones and speakers once, and whenever a device connects, disconnects, wakes the Mac or macOS silently re-picks something else, Roadie reselects the highest-ranked device that is actually connected. Input and output have separate priority lists, a device can be marked as never-auto-pick, and any manual choice you make overrides Roadie until the set of connected devices changes. It only changes the system default device: it never records audio, asks for microphone permission, or captures anything, so you can trust it during calls and recordings. Built by an independent developer for anyone juggling AirPods, USB interfaces, displays and docks on one Mac.
