About
DiskPress saves disk space without deleting anything by applying macOS's built-in transparent compression and APFS clone deduplication to folders you choose. Compressed files keep their names and locations and open normally, and identical files share storage while staying separately editable. With monitoring on, it periodically processes new or changed files, with exclusions, size limits and separate CPU limits for battery and power. It can also compress an app's data folder while that app is closed, and it has a menu bar item, an activity history and a command-line tool with JSON output. Files stay readable without the app, and it costs $9.99 on the Mac App Store for macOS 10.15 or later.
