About
Gõ Nhanh is a Vietnamese input method for the Mac written in Rust, and the engine is the point: keystrokes are handled by a native process, so typing stays immediate instead of waiting on a background app. It covers the Telex and VNI styles, with the usual options for where W becomes Ư and how brackets map to ƯƠ, a typing-shortcut table, a hotkey to switch it off, launch at login, and a mode that follows whichever app you are in. The feature worth knowing about is automatic English restoration: Telex reads s, w and other letters as Vietnamese diacritics, which mangles English words, and Gõ Nhanh puts them back. It is free and open source with no paid tier, works entirely offline, and collects nothing.
