About
Cling keeps its own index of your files, so results appear as you type instead of after a scan, and fuzzy matching finds a file from a few letters of its name. Once a file is found you act on it from the same window: open, copy, move, Quick Look or batch rename, all from the keyboard, and it opens on your most recently changed files. You can drop folders or gitignore-style patterns from the index to keep results clean and memory low, and a Raycast extension brings the same search into the Raycast bar. It is for people who know a file exists and want it in under a second. The free version searches your home folder, Library and Applications, with results capped at 500. A one-time Pro licence adds the system and root scopes with hidden files, dotfiles and app data that Spotlight skips, indexes for external and network drives, quick and folder filters, custom scripts, and up to 10,000 results. It needs macOS 14 or later.
