About
iTerm2 is what people install when Terminal.app runs out of room. It splits a window into panes, keeps a searchable scrollback with marks and instant replay, manages profiles for different hosts and colours, and offers a hotkey window that drops down from the top of the screen over whatever you were doing. Shell integration reports the working directory, exit status and command history back to the terminal, which is what makes autocomplete, the status bar and tmux integration work, while triggers, badges, coprocesses and a Python API cover the rest. It is free and open source under GPL-2.0, and it supports macOS 13 or later.
