About
Afterglow is a purpose-built emulator that runs the original Motorola 68k After Dark modules on current macOS instead of remaking them. It reimplements enough of the classic Macintosh Toolbox on the Musashi 68k CPU core, so no Apple ROM or classic Mac OS install is needed. You drag disk images, StuffIt/BinHex archives or bare module files into the app, or browse software releases straight from the Internet Archive, and it sorts out shared libraries for After Dark 3.0-era modules. It also ships a macOS screen saver component so imported modules can play as your lock screen. It is aimed at vintage-Mac enthusiasts and software-preservation fans who want Flying Toasters, Fish! and Satori running natively on Apple silicon or Intel.
