About
BetterCapture is a native screen recorder built with SwiftUI and ScreenCaptureKit that lives in the menu bar and uses the system content picker to choose a window, display or area. It records in ProRes 422, ProRes 4444, HEVC or H.264, with optional alpha channel and HDR capture. System audio and the microphone can be recorded together, and filters let you hide the cursor, wallpaper, dock, menu bar or other windows. There is no tracking and recordings stay on your Mac, and a URL scheme lets Raycast, Alfred or Shortcuts start and stop captures. Needs macOS 15.2 or later on Apple Silicon.
