Phosphene

About

Phosphene lets you use your own videos as real macOS wallpapers on both the desktop and the lock screen. Instead of a fake window behind your icons, it adds a wallpaper extension so imported clips show up as their own collection in the Wallpaper pane of System Settings, just like Apple's Aerials. Videos loop without gaps, can differ per display, and playback eases off or pauses based on battery, heat, Game Mode or when windows cover the desktop. A menu bar popover previews and pauses the current wallpaper, and a library window can prepare lighter variants of each video. Needs macOS 26 or later.
