Backdrop

About

Backdrop replaces the still wallpaper with moving scenes, and it is one of the few apps that animates the Mac lock screen as well as the desktop. It ships a library of thousands of 4K backdrops with search, categories, playlists and favourites, can play a different clip on each display, and can be told to pause on battery or while another app is full screen. A video of your own can be trimmed, muted and encoded inside the app, and there is a community gallery of profiles and collections to pull from. It is a paid app from Cindori with a free watermarked trial, sold as a subscription or a one-time lifetime licence, and it needs macOS 15 or later.
