Katami covers everything around photo editing except the editing itself. It browses photos where they already sit, on the Mac, external drives or a NAS, without importing or moving them, and they stay browsable when a drive is unplugged. It reads RAW files from all major cameras, including older ones, and its viewer has inspection tools for sharpness, clipped highlights and focus points that explain what they find in plain words. On-device search covers objects, scenes, faces and text. Library Health finds duplicates, blurry or badly exposed shots and damaged files, with removals that need approval and can be undone for 30 days. Sessions import a card, verify every file, group the shoot into moments and suggest the best frame of each, then picks go to Lightroom or Capture One as XMP ratings. No cloud, analytics or tracking. Needs macOS 26 or later.
