About
Snapzy is a native menu bar app for taking screenshots and recording the screen, built as a free alternative to CleanShot X. It handles area, window, scrolling and OCR captures, and records video or GIFs with system audio, microphone, a camera overlay, click highlights and keystrokes. Captures open in an annotation editor with arrows, text, blur, automatic redaction, background removal and mockup backgrounds, while recordings get a video editor with trimming and auto zoom. A floating Quick Access panel, capture history, configurable shortcuts and optional uploads to your own S3 or R2 bucket round it out. Needs macOS 13 or later.
